In the app
- Open Acenda and go to Settings.
- Under Privacy and data, tap Delete account.
- If you want a copy of your record first, tap Take a copy of your data first. After the erasure there is nothing left to copy.
- Type DELETE to confirm, then tap Delete my account.
By email
If you can’t get into the app, or you would rather ask us, email support@acenda.online from the email address on your account, with the subject “Delete my Acenda account”. If you write from a different address, we will need to confirm the account is yours before we act. We will reply to confirm when your request is received and again when the erasure is done.
The 30 day cool off
Nothing is erased straight away. Your account enters a 30 day cool off. During it, opening the app shows that deletion is pending, with a Keep my account button that cancels the request and restores everything. Settings also shows how many days are left and a Cancel deletion button.
When the cool off ends, the erasure is carried out and cannot be undone. We only erase sooner if you ask us to in writing.
What is erased
- Your sign in ends for good: every session is signed out, your sign in email is replaced with an address that cannot receive mail, and the account can never be signed in to again
- Your name is replaced, and your phone number, emergency contact and profile photo are removed from your profile
- Your site memberships, your place on any on call roster and any callout authority are removed
- Your phone’s push notification addresses and any notifications still waiting to be sent are deleted, so Acenda stops reaching your phone
- Your posts and comments are detached from you. They stay on the wall with no name on them
- Your resume links are switched off
- Your verified credentials are revoked, so an employer checking one is told it is no longer valid
What is kept, and why
Some records stay after the erasure, tied to an account that can no longer be used and no longer carries your name:
- Your qualification and ticket records and the photos you submitted with them, and qualification documents such as statements of attainment
- Direct messages you sent, and your Ask the Library questions and answers
- Your quiz and drill answers
- The dated record of the sites you belonged to and when you were on call, kept so a past day can be checked after an incident or an audit
- Wellbeing case records, kept to show that care was given
- The profile photo file itself, which is no longer shown anywhere
- The audit trail of staff actions and verification decisions, which shows how decisions about credentials and accounts were made
If you want any of these removed as well, say so in your request, or by email to support@acenda.online. We will delete everything we are not required by law to keep, and tell you what remains and why.
Other things you can do
- Take a copy of your data: Settings, Download my data
- Withdraw a consent without deleting anything: Settings, Consent and permissions
- Leave the waitlist: email support@acenda.online from the address you signed up with
